"The Birth of Nezha on May 18th" draws inspiration from Macao's intangible cultural heritage "Nezha Prince Parade," primarily exploring the inheritance of folk beliefs in modern society. As a place where Eastern and Western cultures converge, Macao serves as the backdrop for this artwork which, through the belief in Nezha, contemplates the encounter between traditional and modern cultures. The image incorporates modern elements—Macao city street signs—creating a striking contrast between different times and spaces. In terms of technique, the artist particularly emphasizes the use of lines, adopting a freehand approach to capture the dynamic movement and spiritual essence of ink figure painting.
