Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition with a rising global prevalence rate. Studies indicate that children with autism exhibit significant demand for outdoor activities, yet often experience stress and anxiety due to environmental unpredictability. Guided by evidence-based design theory, this study establishes a multidimensional intervention system: Park Design: By synthesizing the characteristics and needs of autism, we create predictable park-based intervention scenarios to reduce environmental overstimulation and outdoor uncertainties; Card System: A structured visual cue system is developed, utilizing customized activity cards to break down tasks into step-by-step processes, alongside providing parents with scientific intervention guidelines; Educational Tools: Landscape-embedded interactive kits are designed to train sensory integration, fine motor skills, and basic social competencies, while integrating age-appropriate natural cognition and rule-based learning. This design constructs a comprehensive intervention framework through park spaces, alleviating social-environmental adaptation challenges for children with autism while fostering public awareness and empathy toward neurodiverse groups. Ultimately, it offers an environmental support framework for building an inclusive society.
  • Current Situation of Children with Autism The number of children diagnosed with autism continues to grow. Through discussions with parents and teachers, we gained insight into their shared desire to bring children to parks—along with the challenges they encounter in doing so.
  • Cards and Toolkit The cards and toolkit provide visual prompts to alleviate anxiety about new environments while offering scientific guidance for parents and teachers.
  • Teaching Tools for Children with Autism These tools are designed to guide and support children with autism in park activities. A park navigation system combined with cards and app usage creates a predictable intervention scenario, supporting children with autism as they transition from indoor to outdoor spaces.
