Settle the Mind, Know and Act—Shanghai Rihui Park Renovation Design Research

The design takes “ageing” as the core, and creates a pocket park space with ecology, culture and intelligence. The “Health and Culture Axis” and “Recreation and Nutrition Education Line” are used to connect the six functional areas, ensuring smooth movement and diversified functions. Through the introduction of intelligent facilities and the combination of barrier-free design and ageing-adapted facilities, the experience of the elderly is enhanced. Horticulture and planting, age-adapted sports equipment and intergenerational interactive space provide the elderly with a place for physical and mental enjoyment, with natural landscape elements to strengthen the emotional connection between the elderly and the venue, creating a public space that can inspire a sense of well-being and belonging among the elderly and satisfy different groups of people, and at the same time, reflecting the innovation and inclusiveness of the city's public space design.
