In the development of dunhuang cultural tourism today, how modern architecture carries Dunhuang culture has become a new problem. The design begins with a deconstructed archaeological experience that addresses three questions: How to understand history? How to respond to history? How to reconstruct reality? We stimulate authenticity in the events of the building by appropriately deviating from the type of architectural space expected by its plan and function, and by using weak forms of abstract elements to create the distance between the building and the requirements of use, thereby achieving the alienation of the building.
  • Pre-analysis and Renderings Conduct preliminary analysis and renderings of Dunhuang's geographical location, distribution of scenic spots, cultural resources, history and culture, and traffic routes
  • Design concept The main design goals derived from the analysis are to tell the historical story, promote Dunhuang culture, promote the tourism economy, transmit the archaeological spirit, and then draw some topological deformation design methods according to the spatial feelings, integrate the weakly related Dunhuang elements, and deduce the architectural form of the site
  • Concept presentation Landscape vegetation analysis, statement of the internal gameplay of the building, introduction of liquid architectural concepts, and creation of cultural and creative peripherals
